I have self-published a novel on Amazon. Shocker.

It’s available as a Kindle download or a physical book. Both of these options cost money unless you have Kindle Unlimited, then it’s free. The paper edition is as cheap as Amazon would let me sell it.

If you do not have Kindle Unlimited and would rather spend zero money, I have the book right here as a PDF you can download: Monsters All the Way Down

Or here as a Word doc: Monsters All the Way Down

Why am I giving my book away for free?
Because I can and because I am more interested in people reading it than making money off of it.

Why publish on Amazon at all, then?
I figured the option was nice, and I hope that folks will leave a review, whether they paid for the book or not. Feedback is precious. Of course, you can also post a review in a comment on this blog. Again, options.

So, yere you go. Free book. Or, very inexpensive book, if you’d rather a third party were involved.

The book contains aliens, humans, sarcasm, action, humor, awkward romance, PG-13 violence, and R-rated language. It also contains less than 64k words. You’re welcome.

Here’s the back cover blurb for those who would like an idea of the plot before they commit:

Human brainwaves are the only ammunition aliens called Hordts have found effective against entirely different aliens called Stoneheads. Each Hordt recruit harvests brainwaves from their one assigned human while cloaked from view to everyone else. This is a relatively mundane activity to the Hordt, but the human usually finds it quite distressing since Hordts are gray, fanged monsters who are ordered to inflict intense pain if the human they follow attempts to talk to anyone about the Hordts; repeat infractions are punishable by death.

Charlie, a human, gets the added bonus of his assigned Hordt, Cid, being a sarcastic asshole who calls him “Chuck” just because the Hordt knows Charlie hates it. Meanwhile, Charlie’s new friend, Tracey, is so fed-up with the idiocy of her Hordt, Lia, that she makes it her mission to find a way to oust the invasive aliens.

Charlie and Tracey’s burgeoning relationship, and Cid’s reluctance to call in a kill-order on another human, sets in motion a chain of events that irrevocably alters the Hordt/human dynamic. These aliens now must learn how to work together in a last-ditch effort to save all their lives.

If you read it, let me know. Even if you hated it. (Especially if you hated it.)

Thank you and happy reading!
